Before you enrol in a CUET coaching institute, a few checks can save you months of frustration and a significant fee. Advertisements promise a great deal; a careful visit and a few direct questions reveal much more.
Attend a demo class
Always attend a demo class before paying. Notice how the teacher explains concepts, whether doubts are answered patiently, and whether the pace suits you. A good demo class teaches something real, not just a rehearsed performance.
Also observe the classroom itself. Note the batch size, the seating, and whether students seem engaged or lost. If the institute will not let you sit in on a real class, ask why.
Talk to current and former students
The most honest information comes from students, not brochures. Ask current students about the regularity of classes, the quality of material, and how doubts are handled. Ask former students whether the institute delivered what it promised and whether they would enrol again.
Pay attention to patterns. One unhappy student may be an exception, but the same complaint from several students is a warning. Ask specifically about mock tests, faculty changes and refund experiences.
Verify the teaching and the material
Find out who will actually teach your subjects, and whether those teachers stay for the whole course. Ask to see the study material and a sample test paper, and check whether the material covers your chosen subjects properly.
Ask how mock tests are reviewed and how often. A test series without detailed analysis is of limited use. Also check whether the institute provides revision sessions and support in the final weeks, when you will need them most.
Read the terms in writing
Get the full fee structure, the instalment schedule, the refund policy and the batch-change rules in writing before you pay. Ask what is included and what costs extra, and confirm the course duration and the number of teaching hours.
Pay by a traceable method and keep the receipt with the written terms. Check your payment statement afterwards to confirm the amount matches what was agreed. An institute that is open about its teaching, its tests and its terms is the one worth trusting.
Take your time over the decision. Visit more than one institute, compare what each actually offers, and choose the one that answers your questions clearly rather than the one that promises the most.
